Professional Music Instruction

Celestial Sounds offers comprehensive music instruction from Monica McTaggart, a seasoned professional with over 40 years of experience. Located at her home studio in Shoalwater, Western Australia, Monica is dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential.

Our Curriculum

We provide a well-rounded musical education that goes beyond simply learning pieces. Our lessons incorporate piano technique, music theory, and music history to foster a deep and comprehensive understanding of music. Our piano curriculum draws from acclaimed methods such as Piano Adventures and Supersonics Piano, among others. We also integrate educational music apps on an iPad to enhance learning in an engaging way.

Student Opportunities

Students have multiple opportunities throughout the year to showcase their progress and perform in a professional setting, including:

  • June Recital: An opportunity for students to perform in a supportive environment.
  • September St. Cecilia Exam: A chance for students to pursue formal accreditation.
  • December End-of-Year Concert: A final performance to celebrate their achievements.

Scheduling and Fees

Lessons are available in 30-minute (recommended for ages 5-7), 45-minute, or 60-minute weekly sessions. Tuition is billed by the Western Australian Government School Term. We also offer lessons during school holidays.

Monica offers music lessons at her home studio in Shoalwater, Western Australia. With over four decades of experience, she strives to work with each student to make sure they can play to the best of their abilities.

Piano methods used include Piano Adventures, Supersonics Piano and others. Lessons cover not only the music pieces but piano technique and music theory/history. Her iPad with educational music apps is always close by to add some educational fun to the lessons. Students have the opportunity to play in a recital in June, take a St. Cecilia exam in September and perform in the End of Year Concert in December.
